Why I’ve decided to run for Parliament

My story

I was born and raised by parents who emigrated to London from Bangladesh in the 1970s. From a young age, seeing my father work as a doctor in Whitechapel and have his own GP practice, it instilled me with a sense of duty and compassion to help the vulnerable - a principle I always strive to reflect in my life.

Which led me to become a lawyer, to serve my community.

Throughout my career, I’ve earned international recognition for championing marginalised communities and fearlessly challenging the establishment.

My work includes:

  • Fighting for Shamima Begum’s right to return to the UK

  • Suing groups who wrongly label our community mosques and members as extremists or terrorists

  • Suing and bankrupting hateful figures like Tommy Robinson

Like many others, until last October I had lost faith in politics. The Labour Party's treatment of Lutfur Rahman, Jeremy Corbyn, and George Galloway over the years left a sour taste.

And our current MP, Rushanara Ali abstained from the ceasefire vote during a genocide, I couldn't stay silent.

I refuse to let self-serving politicians betray us by supporting atrocities in our name.

My mission is clear: I want to defeat Rushanara Ali in the General Election and give our community the representation it deserves

Our MP should represent us, but Rushanara Ali failed to do so, especially regarding Gaza. She's out of touch, never visiting her Bethnal Green office and barely responds to emails. She follows Keir Starmer blindly, ignoring your voice.

We can't forget or forgive this betrayal.

That's why I'm running as an independent candidate. If elected, I'll be an advocate for Palestine and a true representative of your concerns on all issues. I'll be your voice in Parliament and give our community the representation it deserves.
